EVOLUTION LINEUP

This is the full lineup for EVOLUTION 2019. Please look it over and read about all the classes & workshops we are offering. You do not need to preregister for classes. However, we do ask that you arrive about 5-10 minutes prior to the start of each activity so you can get signed in and situated before the class/workshop begins.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring or wear athletic clothing and shoes for all fitness classes; shoes are optional for barre and yoga. Pool fitness classes require proper swim attire. Please bring your own yoga mat and/or towel for classes. We also recommend that you bring a change of clothes, sun protection (sun screen/hat) and we will be offering open swim time in the afternoon so bring your swim clothes.

* Jedi flow is an introduction to fire dancing movement and motion. We begin with a brief intro to the art form and how it began. Next we will move through 6 of the foundational moves to create a sequence and pattern we can put together to create a dance. Using the skills taught, students will then be able to integrate their own freedom of motion in any form of dance.

* 30 minute “Glutes, Arms, & Waist Burner” fitness class, followed by a 30 minute presentation entitled, “AM Makeover” – Learn to rock your morning routine, and you will be sure to rock the rest of your day. Tips and tricks for a better night sleep, AM meditation, exercise, and food prep.

* This fun & light Vinyasa class incorporates an invigorating, sweaty flow followed by a relaxing stretch, all to harmonizing music. We combine the practice of mindful awareness, breath (prana) & movement (asana) to optimize our mental/physical health & well being. All levels, body types & backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

* Learn sustainable tricks and skills to lose weight without dieting.

11:45-12:45pmLocation: MAIN STAGE  //  (FITNESS CLASS) “Silent Disco Yoga” –  with Mindy Nguyen of Yoga in HI Places (from Oahu)
* Immerse yourself in the motion of yoga with a pair of noise isolating wireless LED headphones, which allows you to hear the instructor at the perfect level while their curated set takes you on a musical journey into sound.

11:45-12:45pmLocation: MULTIPURPOSE – RIGHT  //  (FITNESS CLASS) “Kundalini Yoga” – with Jessica Eagan of Halani Yoga (yoga Instructor)
* Practiced with eyes closed (and gazing up between the eyebrows), kundalini classes are comprised of small, repetitive movements synchronized with breath that induce deeply meditative states. Expect to get a little weird, move your body and breath as you never have before and use your voice for toning and chanting.

* cardio and strength class – build muscle and burn fat in 1 workout. Using weights to build glutes and arms, and finish with HIIT to torch fat.

* take a look at a therapeutic approach to yoga by incorporating the wisdom of the Five Element Meridian System of Traditional Chinese Medicine with traditional Indian Hatha Yoga Asana. Students will learn the precise therapeutic benefits of yoga asana’s and which organs are influenced directly by particular meridian pathways, accessed purposefully in specific yoga postures. We will review how to recognize postural implications of chi imbalance in ourselves on & off the mat as well as nutrition & lifestyle support while including affirmations in our yoga practice.

This presentation is based around improv comedy games that will have the whole audience laughing while learning the tools that will change their lives.

* With the studio doors & windows closed, to simulate a “hot yoga” environment, we will stretch through a series of 26 asana poses designed to scientifically warm & stretch muscles, ligaments, & tendons in the order in which they should be stretched.

* An intro to Kriya yoga and how to get that glow. Learn the 6 actions from Shat karma kriya that bring balance to the doshas, that in the ayurvedic view, constitute the body.
